How Do I Find Brokers That Hire Owner/operators Pulling Belly Dumps?
I need to find jobs for my tractor/trailer in Ca. The trailer is a belly dump. I normally use brokers that hire me. My broker currently has no jobs. How do I find other brokers that I can haul for? I live in Southern California.

I am so glad you clarified what a belly dump is in your “more information” because I have never heard of such a thing but WHAT a funny sounding word!
That said, I would suggest that networking is going to be your best bet. Pick up the phone. If you know other owner/operators, ask who they use. Or even if you know companies that hire “belly dumps”, it sounds like they must use brokers too. So they might tell you who their brokers are.
Beyond that, is there anything says you have to go through a broker? Can you offer your services directly to companies? You might be able to do that with a post card, a phone call, a letter, a small brochure, a business card, a refrigerator magnet type of thing, etc. Only thing is I would stay away from companies that use your broker because he would take offense if you went direct to his clients.

I actually know nothing about this business.
Although recently we met retired friends and he is still a self employed trucker. He carries a laptop and gets all of his own jobs off some site and through brokers on the Internet.
I don’t know if this will help, but it might give you a new direction to go to find work.
Good Luck!
I Googled “Independent Truck Brokers/California” and a whole list came up.
